Los Angeles To Host The 6th International Symposium For Hyperbaric Oyxgen And The Future Of Healing

Newport Beach, California, January 7th 2008: The 6th International Symposium for Hyperbaric Oxygen will be taking place at the Marriott Torrance, California, July 23rd-26th 2008. As in previous years, the most focused group of leading visionaries specializing in the latest advances in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) will assemble in one location. The 3 day conference will focus on cutting edge forums and scientific ideas that cover neurology and neuro-rehabilitation for all ages, under the theme "The Future of Healing".

Dr. Donald Gabriel-Jolly, Director of The Hyperbaric Treatment Center at The Whitaker Wellness Center who is spearheading this year's event commented, "It was very important to me and for my love and dedication to HBOT to continue the incredible work of the late pioneer Dr. Richard Neubauer. It is with this deep devotion to ensuring further research, medical improvements and education of HBOT that I have decided to continue these bi-annual International Symposia that Dr. Richard Neubauer created. We have created The Richard A. Neubauer Research Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, which is dedicated to proving and promoting the education and use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapies. Net proceeds will be utilized in research that continues to offer new hope for children with cerebral palsy and brain injuries affecting all age groups."

Topics for discussion at HBOT2008 will include cerebral palsy, Lyme disease, Spinal Cord Injury, Autism, Alzheimer's, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Near Drowning, Traumatic Brain Injury, Coma and Anoxic Encephalopathy. In addition, exhibitors will showcase the very latest innovative products in hyperbaric oxygen.

Dr. Gabriel-Jolly added, "Since we committed to HBOT2008 a few months ago, the response from potential speakers has been overwhelming. The energy created at previous symposiums and the deep desire to advance this treatment has already resulted in over 20 of the most renowned international speakers pledging their support and attendance.

I'm delighted that Dr. Harch will be joining us as a key note speaker. The renowned Dr. Harch wrote the groundbreaking book "The Oxygen Revolution", that explains HBOT and its revolutionary effects on medicine and neurology. Dr. Harch has worked closely with Dr. Jolly to assemble an accomplished, diversified, and highly respected group of clinicians and academicians from the executive ranks of multiple medical societies and universities. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Fred Cramer, Dr. Jane Orient, Dr. Carol Hendrix, Dr. Dan Rossignol, Dr. Heather Murphy-Lavore, Dr. Ken Stoller, Dr. Reg McDaniel, Dr. Jim Toole, Dr. Dan Pavel, Dr. William Maxfield, Dr. Charles Golden, Dr. Bernard Brucker, Dr. Adam Briener, Dr. James Neubrander, Dr. Keith VanMeter and Dr. Arun Mukherjee. In total, there will be over 30 distinguished speakers."

Sharon Phillips, Event Director commented, "HBOT2008 will deliver many new topics that will benefit neurologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, perinatologists, physical therapists, physiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, caregivers, coma recovery, disability groups and parents. In memory of Dr. Neubauer http://www.hbot2008.com/tribute.php, we will be introducing the inaugural Foundation Awards, that will recognize those individuals, groups of people and Centers, who have really set the bar high in HBOT advancement and care. The three day conference will have an abundance of activities including a special Author's Luncheon and Gala Dinner. The venue is ideal for conferencing, trade show exhibits and general interaction between speakers, exhibitors and delegates. The Hotel has recently undergone a $13 million renovation and is located only 20 minutes from LAX. This convenient location provides an ideal opportunity for those that want to attend and maybe extend their stay to enjoy the surrounding areas."

She added, "We anticipate that HBOT2008 will be the largest event ever. Additional floor space will allow us to have many more exhibitors than in previous years and the initial response from various manufacturers and vendors has been excellent. Those delegates attending will be awarded CEU credits."
